    Food Safety Management Systems – Requirements for any organisation in the food chain

    ISO 22000:2005 specifies requirements for a food safety management system where an organization in the food chain needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.

    It is applicable to all organizations, regardless of size, which are involved in any aspect of the food chain and want to implement systems that consistently provide safe products. The means of meeting any requirements of ISO 22000:2005 can be accomplished through the use of internal and/or external resources.

    The Singapore Muis Halal Quality Management System ( HalMQ ) is a system-based and proactive approach towards Halal certification , 10 principles of HalMQ were benchmarked against ISO & HACCP Standards .
    ISO 9001:2008 – sets out the requirements of a quality management system.

    It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity.

    ISO 22301:2012 specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a documented management system to protect against, reduce the likelihood of occurrence, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents when they arise.

    The requirements specified in ISO 22301:2012 are generic and intended to be applicable to all organizations, or parts thereof, regardless of type, size and nature of the organization. The extent of application of these requirements depends on the organization’s operating environment and complexity.
